With the boating season kicking off, now is the time to make absolutely sure you are ready and prepared to stay safe on the water.

We will be spreading boating safety messages all season, but we need your help.

Before you head out, make sure:

  • your boating safety knowledge is Ship-Shape. Plan ahead. Gear up.
  • your lifejacket is Ship-Shape. Wear it. Maintain it.

And if you’re keen to jump on a jet ski, make sure your speed is Ship-Shape near others. Cool your jets. Know the rules.

Congratulations to Aidan who was the lucky winner of the lifejacket giveaway

We had a fantastic time at the recent Riverland and Yorke Peninsula Field Days, meeting close to 600 people across the two events.

Our highlights included:

  • the popular children’s trail, where kids collected stamps for their passport and a Marine Safety SA drink bottle
  • interactive lifejacket maintenance demonstrations throughout the day
  • answering plenty of great questions about safe boating on the River Murray.

We also ran “Win a lifejacket” competitions at both events. Congratulations to Aidan (winner at the Riverland Field Days) and Shana (winner at the Yorke Peninsula Field Days).
