New information boards at boat ramps

Friday 30 January 2026

We are making it easier for you to find important information.

Safety signage is cluttering some of our state’s boat ramps. This makes it harder for boaters to find the information they need to stay safe on the water.

To fix this, we have partnered with other agencies to replace individual signs at boat ramps. This information will now appear on one information board.

What you will see at your local ramp

We installed the first information board at the North Haven boat ramp in January 2026.

This new signage:

  • includes safety and environmental information from key agencies
  • shows information in an easy-to-read format
  • features interchangeable panels to keep messaging current
  • reduces clutter.

An information board with six panels at the North Haven boat ramp.

Tailored information boards will be installed at more locations over time.

Depending on each location, signage may include information about:

  • safe speeds
  • safety equipment
  • lifejacket requirements
  • recreational fishing
  • marine wildlife.

Our vision for safer waterways

This project aligns with actions from South Australia’s Recreational Boating Safety Strategy 2025-2030.
