Boat notice of disposal now available online

Selling your boat just got a little easier! With your mySAGOV account, you can now lodge a boat notice of disposal (NOD) online.

While not mandatory, lodging a NOD is free and can protect you from having a boat re-registered in your name.

When you sell a boat, simply:

• log into your mySAGOV account
• select “I’ve sold a boat” located under “Buying and Selling”
• input the boat registration number, sale details and buyer’s details and licence/client number.

If you don’t already have a mySAGOV account, find instructions for how to create a new account.

If the buyer is from interstate, you will also need to lodge the paper version of the NOD at a Service SA centre.

Remember, a NOD does not transfer the boat registration. The boat will remain in your name until the new owner completes the transfer. This must be done within 14 days.
