SOUTH AUSTRALIA – RAPID BAY – PARTIALLY COLLAPSED JETTY – EXTENSION OF EXCLUSION ZONE

Former Notice to Mariners No. 18 of 2023 (Temporary)

Mariners are advised the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport under section 11 of the Harbors and Navigation Act 1993 (the Act), pursuant to section 67 of the Act has directed the following, in relation to the partially collapsed Old Rapid Bay Jetty:

To be the prohibited area: the area beneath the ‘Old Rapid Bay Jetty’, Rapid Bay, South Australia (the Jetty), and within 20 metres on either side of the Jetty that commences at the yellow gate at the beginning of the Jetty and extends seaward along the entire length of the Jetty, including the T head berth, and extends to the seabed of the area.
That the prohibited area described in 1 above be closed to all persons and vessels.
That only persons and vessels that have the approval of the Minister, or delegate under section 67 of the Act, be permitted to enter the prohibited area described in 1 above.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution when in the area.
