Refurbished ferry #24 at Lyrup is up and running

A refurbished ferry #24 at Lyrup is up and running. The refurbished ferry features a hydraulic start system that turns the ferry off when it is not being used saving on fuel and engine wear and tear. Lithium bank batteries that are solar powered have also been installed. Video surveillance cameras have been added to the ferry helping to keep passengers and staff safe.

Department for Infrastructure and  ferry services operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week at 12 locations unless temporary closures are in place. There is no charge for the public to use the services.
