SOUTH AUSTRALIA – KANGAROO ISLAND – VHF CHANNEL 21 REPEATER NOT OPERATIONAL

Mariners are advised that the VHF Channel 21 repeater on Kangaroo Island is currently not operational due to infrastructure damage from bushfires.

VHF coverage of waters along the north coast of the island remains with Channel 80, while Channel 83 provides cover over waters at the eastern end and Channel 81 over waters offshore from the western end.

Volunteer Marine Rescue coastal listening stations continue to monitor all channels, with Coast Radio Adelaide continuing to monitor the VHF Channel 16/67 emergency channels.

Due to ongoing firefighting operations it may be some time before crews can attend to assess any impacts and undertake repairs. Updates will be provided as further information is to hand.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
