Notice to Mariners No 9 of 2018

KANGAROO ISLAND – KINGSCOTE – CHANGES TO NAVIGATION BEACONS
Mariners are advised of the following modifications to navigation beacons in the vicinity of Kingscote, Kangaroo Island.
- The existing unlit port beacon in position 35° 38’ 06.12” S, 137° 38’ 39.15” E at the entrance to Bay of Shoals has been removed and replaced with a new lit port beacon in position 35° 37’ 58.53” S, 137° 38’ 33.14” E, Fl R 2s, range 2 nautical miles.
- The existing beacon in position 35° 38’ 25.32” S, 137° 41’ 41.52” E east of the Beatrice Islets has been changed to an east cardinal marker, Q(3)W 10s, range 3 nautical miles.
- The existing beacon in position 35° 40’ 01.30” S, 137° 41’ 14.80” E south of the Beatrice Islets has been changed to a south cardinal marker, Q(6)+LFl W 15s, range 3 nautical miles.
- The existing unlit port buoy in position 35° 38’ 58.18” S, 137° 38’ 48.76” E north of the Kingscote Fishermen’s Jetty has been removed.
Mariners are advised to navigate with extreme caution in the vicinity.
