SOUTH AUSTRALIA – NORTH HAVEN MARINA – DREDGING OPERATIONS (REVISED)  (Formally Notice No. 40 of 2021)

Mariners are advised that maintenance dredging operations have been underway since November 2021 in North Haven marina and entrance.

Dredging operations are scheduled for up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The discharge site will be marked with yellow surface floats/lights and is located approximately 600m North-West (seaward) of the marina entrance Fl Y 3s.

The discharge pipeline trails up to 1000 metres from the dredge and is normally resting on the seabed, however, the discharge pipe is floated at certain times to facilitate dredge movements. In these times a SÉCURITÉ warning will be issued on VHF radio channel 16.Mariners using the North Haven marina entrance are advised to exercise caution when navigating this area. A 4 knot speed limit applies within the marina. Mariners are recommended to contact the dredge on VHF 14 where possible before arrival/departure to assist with safe navigation.

It is expected that that dredging operations will be completed before the end of March
