'Win a lifejacket competition: Stay Afloat clinics' terms and conditions
- The promoter of this competition is the South Australian government through the Department for Infrastructure and Transport ("DIT").
- The competition commences at 9:00 am ACDT on 8 November 2025 and closes at 5:00 pm ACDT on Thursday 30 April 2026 ("Promotional Period").
- Any person who completes an entry form with their name, email address and contact phone number and places it in the Marine Safety SA entry box located at the Stay Afloat clinics held across South Australia (locations listed on the Marine Safety SA website - www.marinesafety.sa.gov.au/your-safety-and-operations/stay-afloat) will go into the draw to win a lifejacket valued between $190.25 and $250.00 The prize is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Entry is open to South Australian residents only. In line with the South Australia Public Sector Code of Ethics, DIT and other South Australian government employees and their immediate families can enter the competition but are ineligible to win the prize. DIT reserves the right to verify the winning entry to ensure compliance with this condition.
- Entry into this competition will be taken as acceptance by the entrant of these terms and conditions.
- Entry to this competition is free and is limited to one entry per person.
- To be eligible for the prize, entries must be received via the Marine Safety SA entry box during the Promotional Period. DIT will not accept late, lost or misdirected entries.
- The drawing of the prize will be held at each of the clinics listed on the Marine Safety SA website www.marinesafety.sa.gov.au/your-safety-and-operations/stay-afloat at the end of each clinic (12:00 pm ACST or 4:00 pm ACST) at the locations listed on the Marine Safety SA website www.marinesafety.sa.gov.au/your-safety-and-operations/stay-afloat. The winning entry at each location will be chosen by a random draw in a manner determined by DIT’s sole discretion. DIT’s decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner of this competition will be notified by email / phone with instructions on how to claim the prize and the winner’s first name and suburb published on the Marine Safety SA website www.marinesafety.sa.gov.au. The winner will be required to provide their postal address for the prize to be sent to them via post. Alternatively, the winner may arrange to collect the prize, in person, during business hours from the DIT Regency Park Office at 13 Kateena Street, Regency Park SA. DIT may require the winner to provide proof of identity when claiming the prize.
- The prize must be claimed within 30 days of the winner being notified. If the winners’ postal details are not provided, or the prize is not collected within 30 days, the prize will be deemed to be forfeited.
- DIT, and the South Australian government accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.
- The winner’s entry may be used for promotional purposes on the Marine Safety SA website, Marine Safety SA Newsletter, social media and any other purpose wanted by the South Australian government.
- DIT shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) by entrants or the winner in connection with this competition or the acceptance and use of the prize by the winner, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law).
- DIT reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these terms and conditions, or engaging in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this competition. DIT’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- DIT reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this competition at any time.
- The personal information submitted in an entry is collected by DIT and will be used by DIT for the purpose of conducting the competition and contacting the winner. DIT may also add entrant’s names and email addresses to the Marine Safety SA newsletter subscriber list (entrants will have the option to unsubscribe from this list at any time). Personal information supplied by entrants will be handled by DIT in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles contained in Cabinet Instruction PC012 applicable to South Australian public sector agencies.
